I almost gave 2 stars because the main area of the room was obviously recently renovated. The bathroom looks worse than the sterotypical worst garage restroom. Ceiling decaying, wood rot around door, chipped and rusting tub, hair in the tub. We put a towel down in the tub and on the floor it was so disgusting. Manager wasn't friendly at all and when a guy knocked on our door the next morning I wanted to grab my handgun to answer it (yes, I have a concealed weapons permit and felt safer at the hotel because of it). He didn't speak any English, but through hand gestures we finally understood that he was asking for our trash can. He dumped it in a container he was pulling and handed it back. That was the extent of our room cleaning. This was the last room around with a game in town. Next time I may pitch a tent on the side of the road. It will save me the $225 for 2 nights.
The room wasn't very clean. There were roaches active early Saturday morning. The beds squeaked loudly with the slightest movement. The room smelled like a super sweet institutional air freshner. My 10 year old daughter said, "camping may have been a better idea."
The rooms were decently clean, but there were cigarette burns on the comforter and sheets in a "non smoking room". The beds are very stiff and extremely noisy. In the bathroom, the toilet wasn't bolted down to the floor it kept moving anytime we tried to use it. The shower was fine other than the shower curtain was about 2 inches above the rim of the tub so water filled the floor every time you took a shower. Unless there are no other options I would not stay here again.
Ok so after 22 years in the army I have stayed in better places in Afghanistan. The first 2 rooms they tried to give me and my daughter the door handles wouldn’t even open they were broken. The third door barely functioned and I had to slide my card 7 times and mess with the handle repeatedly to get it to catch and open. When I got into the room half the lights did not work or turn on. Upon placing my items on the table the table promptly fell over as one of the legs fell off. After moving my stuff I got my 7 year old ready for a shower and it took 20 minutes for the water to get warm not hot just warm, the water pressure was very poor and only had enough pressure to operate one setting on the shower head. While bathing my daughter my leg made contact with the toilet and to my surprise the entire toilet moved it wasn’t even bolted down and now I was afraid to flush it. After getting settled in I went to place my wallet in the center night stand drawer I opened it and found it had old chicken bones inside the drawer. When laying down the heater seemed to work well but the covers were paper thin and not up to par with other hotels. This is the first negative review I have ever left anyone at any point but this place needs a major renovation or motel 6 should remove the rights for using its name overall they should have paid me to stay here instead of me paying them.
My Alabama Home away from Home. Clean well maintained rooms. Courteous staff. Japanese and Mexican Cuisine 50 too 200 feet from their Lobby Desk. It's Quiet and Family friendly. At their room rates,I'm sure you will decide you made the Right choice.I'll certainly be back.
