Background information for you read until the end to see why they have 5*: Dealing with Sears has been a nightmare(Sear Warranty department, not the store). Husband and I bought a fridge and a zero turn lawn mower. Ice doesn't work in fridge and we did not purchase the warranty on this product. We did however purchase it on the lawn mower. Thank goodness too because every time it is used it has broken down. Since May 2017 we have had 4 appts scheduled for repair and 2 of them have been rescheduled on Sear's part. May 3rd rescheduled to May 9th tech didn't have parts, different tech came on June 1st did not have correct tools, June 22 rescheduled again. You call and get a call center and even the local store does not have a number for anyone higher than a call center supervisor so it gets you no where.
Jeff the owner of the Opelika store is wonderful. We finally got a hold of someone who could help and they told us to go to the local store and have them call this number. Jeff waited on hold for an hour maybe more just to be told they didn't have a replacement amount in yet. Every day for a week and a half he called me to let me know he looked it up and there was still nothing. When we did get the amount finally, we called Jeff and he called me back within a few hours and said I can bring the replacement Wednesday evening, I will add you on to the schedule. Tuesday comes and Jeff calls and says Hey we have sometime can we bring it by. He wants what is best for his customers. Thank you Jeff.
We bought a Kenmore Elite Washer and Dryer with the insurance 2 years ago from this store and the owner is great! The problem is with Sears Service department and the poor, poor, poor service you get when it concerns repairs. I have been waiting for 2 months now for service on my washer!!! I was told to go rent a washer and pay for it out of my own pocket until they could fix my washer and I would be reimbursed !!! I will no longer buy Sears products anymore because of the lack of customer service from the repair department. Sears was a household name that you could trust and the service was the greatest but now it's name is mud! To the owner of this Sears Home store, I am sorry you are great but Sears Corporation is failing you and your customers with bad service issues.

Owner (Jeff) and staff are awesome. Stock is plentiful and they'll order whatever they don't have if you need it. Have purchased quite a few large items from them at this point and delivery has always been a breeze and I've never had any issue with communication. Keep in mind, this is a Sears Hometown Store, not a giant Sears department store. They aren't staffed with a hundred people at all times but they've never let me down in any regard. Will continue to make large purchases here in the future.
Jeff and the staff always do a great job and always take care of their customers. Frankly, im not a big Sears guy but I am a big fan of this store and the professionalism of the staff. They have great deals on tools as well.
