Dr. Adams' move to a new office and what seems to be and what appears to be some different staff in the reception area has certainly made a difference and create a positive and inviting atmosphere. The wait time has drastically improved to around 10-15 minutes. The reception area sets the tone for the rest of the visit and this is a dramatic improvement.
We went into the clinic for a sore foot. Without our knowledge, we were charged $222.00 for being a "new patient" and that wasn't covered by BCBS of Alabama. After less than 5 minutes with the doctor and no XRays, the dr. recommended a boot. We then received an additional bill amount of $457.00 for the 5 minutes with the doctor. Total bill amount was $711.00 none of which was covered by "Blue Cross of Alabama". They were given our insurance information prior to seeing the doctor so they obviously were aware that the visit wasn't going to be covered by our insurance and didn't disclose that information to us. Make sure you are aware of their fees and your insurance eligibility before you go. Additionally, they contacted our primary doctor after the visit and attempted to get them to submit an "after the fact" referral so that they could charge these outrageous fees to the insurance company without success. This is the reason our insurance rates are so incredibly high.
This office had so many complaints from military families Tricare dropped them!!!
This review isn't specific to Dr. Adams but about the clinic as a whole. I have been there on two occasions. I am always 15 minutes early to any of my appointments (Former military habit). Each visit my appointment time was missed by 40 and 31 minutes respectively. They now have a sign up that they will start charging customers who miss their appointments $25.00. I have no problem with that policy but I do expect reciprocity. If they expect patients to be on time, they should be held accountable also. This is a problem at many health services. I will not patronize offices that can't keep appointments. You have to look but you can find those that do. I will never come back to this clinic.
Always worth the wait, which has shortened. Staff is friendly and professional and Dr. Adams and PA Molly Reeves are knowledgeable and persistent. They will keep researching and trying until they fix the problem.
