With all do respect, I would like your uniform to take the word "Integrity" off of the Opelika PD homepage. I believe it undermines and devalues the word. If a serviceman shot an unarmed man twice he would be in the brig.
Did a noise complaint at 11:30 at night and the police haven't came out to the area and did a search. It doesn't take long to get from the police department to our place maybe 15 minutes tops. Sad representation for cops.
Get professional gents and remember you're patrolling in your own homeland.
Also if you want to pretend you are in a warzone you should be held to the same standard; fire when fired upon. Otherwise get back to being police officers and do your jobs right.
Appalled by the 'permissible' behavior of Phillip Hancock. How could the officer's behavior (aka shooting an innocent man (who is also a veteran(thank you for your service Mr. Davidson))) be viewed as just? You are paid to PROTECT and SERVE the community. As an officer, you must be apt to professionally handle high-stress situations. If you are unable to do so, perhaps you should find another occupation more suited to your abilities. To allow such behavior, and deem it 'reasonable', is a true reflection of your department. I hope the citizens of Opelika, AL are not fond of carrying WALLETS because apparently you may be justly shot for carrying one. As Mr. Davidson lies there in AGONY, the officers on scene want to know how Hancock is doing??? I am sickened by what Mr. Davidson experienced, and am furious to see Mr. Davidson denied the justice he deserves. Hancock was/is clearly unstable and should not be working as an officer. Opelika Police Department's purpose is to protect and serve the community, so do it.
